Lilac pharma has been developing various types of lipid or polymer nanoparticles in medicine individually or jointly.
Since Lilac’s microfluidic device iLiNP requires only one to several hundreds microliter of API (Active pharmaceutical ingredients) solution per one formulation experiment, you can save the cost of the API.
The new formulation and the manufacturing device/process are licensable to a pharmaceutical company.
Examples of the nanoparticles prepared by the iLiNP.
– Lipid nanoparticles encapsulating water-soluble small molecules.
– Lipid nanoparticles encapsulating water-insoluble small molecules.
– Lipid nanoparticles encapsulating oligo DNA, siRNA or mRNA.
– Lipid nanoparticles encapsulating proteins.
– Polymer nanoparticles encapsulating proteins.
– Polymer nanospheres encapsulating water-soluble compounds.
Particles size control
Lilac has various kinds of knowhows (microfluidic channel design, preparation conditions, pre/after treatment, etc.) and they enable us to control the size of the nanoparticles very precisely. The controllable range is currently from 20 nm to 500 nm.
Lilac has succeeded in scaling-up study of the manufacturing of the lipid nanoparticles in cosmetics. By modifying the large-scale system Lilac will be able to manufacture 30-100 liter (or more) of pharmaceutical nanoparticles suspension per day.
You can choose the material of the microfluidic device depending on the purpose. The stainless steel device (below photo) is durable, washable and sterilizable, and therefore is suitable for repeated use. The polymer device is suitable for single use. You can also select the chemical-resistant glass device.
A GMP-grade manufacturing system has not been established yet, but Lilac and its CMO partner will be able to accept the request of GMP-grade manufacturing of the nanoparticles depending on your budget and schedule. Please contact us for details.
